What do you enjoy about essay coaching?

I really enjoy getting to know my students and brainstorming but my challenge is to help the students advance their ideas into a personal statement… This is why I am working with your program.

What aspects of essay coaching do you find challenging?

Moving from idea to first draft.

What do you hope to gain from participating here?

First off: a wonderful community of like minded professionals. The discussions are inspiring. My real impetus for joining is to become wiser and more comfortable guiding students with the essays.

What do you think you can offer other professionals?

I have many years of experience with international students, athletes and especially athletes seeking support and admission at highly selective schools.

What else would you like us to know about you?

I am a retired architect, passionate museum docent and serious competitive swimmer.I . have very recently returned home to Northern California after 30 years in Asia (Living in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia and traveling a lot to almost every other Asian country) . I had a thriving practice in Asia which I needed to slow down when I made 5 international moves in 8 years. I am now enjoying reconnecting to the USA, getting up to date with current admissions practices and ideas as well as growing my practice. Best of all is getting to know many IEC’s as I was really on my own in Asia.
